Melty French Toast From Gusto
ガストのとろけるフレンチトースト

When I went to Gusto with my friend, I saw french toast on the menu and it looked very close to what I had at Jonathan's, and she said that she had seen a TV show featuring Skylark Group that holds Gusto and Jonathan's before.
They had a new lemon cream version, but I got the simple Melty French Toast.
However, when it's served, it didn't look like the photo at all or what Jonathan's served.
It's obviously deformed and it's so small that it's not covering the iron skillet.
Like my friend said, it's as sad as the "heel of bread."
It was short, too.
It's the same danish bread and had buttery scent.
The edge didn't seem to have absorbed enough egg wash but still it's fluffy and melty, and though I cut into a bite-size, it's still very hot.
The syrup was written "Maple Syrup" in a large font, but it's actually a syrup made with maple and honey, like Jonathan's had.
Syrup made the French toast even meltier and sweeter, which needless to say brought more tastiness.
Though, I can't lie how disappointed I was to see this plate when it's brought in front of me.
The piece that was brought to my friend exactly looked like the image in the menu, the size and thickness aren't consistent.

ガストに友達と行った時、ジョナサンで食べたフレンチトーストにそっくりなメニューを
見た。
すると友達がガストもジョナサンもすかいらーくグループ傘下にあり、以前テレビで
放送していたのを見たと言っていた。
とろけるフレンチトーストにはレモンクリームの新商品もあったけれど、シンプルな方を
注文した。
ただ、運ばれて来たものはメニュー写真やジョナサンで食べたものとかけ離れていた。
見るからに形が崩れていて、スキレットを覆うほどの大きさもなかった。
友達曰く「パンの切れ端が出されたみたい」なものだった。
厚みもなかった。
デニッシュパンでバターの良い香りがした。
端っこはそれほどアパレイユを吸っていなかったけれど、とろっとして甘く、一口大に
切ってもかなり冷まさないと熱かった。
メープルシロップと大きく書かれているけれど、実際は「メープル入りシロップ」で
さらにはちみつ入り。
これはジョナサンが出していたものと全く同じ。
シロップをかけるとさらにとろみと甘さが増し、美味しくなった。
ただ、最初の見た目の印象が悪くテンションが下がったのは否めない。
友達に出されたフレンチトーストはメニューと同じような見た目だったので、大きさや
厚みに一貫性はなさそう。
