Ghostbusters x J.S. Burgers Cafe

(Japanese follows. /

J.S. Burgers Cafe is operated by Journal Standard, a fashion brand, and the cafe has collaborated with the new movie Ghostbusters and they have 4 special menus between July 1 - September 30, 2016.

The one in Shinjuku stand in front of Shinjuku Takashimaya, a department store.

1st and 2nd floor are shops and the cafe was on the 3rd floor.

After the long stairs, there's a counter and you place your order first, then find a table on your own like fast food.

There's a special booth with collaborated goods.

Menu
You can choose one sauce for G.B. Burger, but the menu had wrong spelling and the weird sentence was hilarious.
"CHOISE HOT!" --- I could assume I could choose a sauce but it's a mix of "choose (verb) and "choice (noun)."
If they had written, "CHOOSE SAUCE," it's much simpler and sounds natural.
The spiciness was indicated with "Proton," the proton pack that they use to capture ghost, and the staff said the weakest "Proton" is quite spicy, so I got this one to avoid stomachache later.
The bun had mayonnaise, and I asked them no mayo.

As these are all available for a limited time, I got them all.
They gave me a numbered plate to take it with me to a table, and when the dishes were ready, they brought to me.

In about 15 minutes, all the items were served.

G.B. Burger
Its image is the Ghostbusters' logo, and this burger has black olives and black tapenade (anchovy, garlic sauce), beef patty, onion rings and bloody hot ketchup.

There're 3 onions rings, red cabbage and a slice of tomato, served with thick sliced potato chips.

A paper bag to put burger in.

They even gave me a pair of plastic gloves so that I could keep my hands clean.

It didn't look like I was gonna eat a burger.

It's a tall burger with so many ingredients.

The runny cream represents ghost.

Though I had it with Proton sauce, it was quite hot and I don't think people who don't like spicy food can handle it.
To me, it's a tasty-spicy sauce and the sourness and the tanginess were similar to tabasco.
Onion rings were covered in sauce so that they only a bit of crispiness, and over the patty, there's a lot of finely chopped black olives.

Black Chili Chips
Freshly fried chips are covered with spicy black chili beans tinted with squid ink.
Additionally, they put white cheddar sauce and tomato puree.

The chips were thick slices like those served with G.B. Burger, and they're crunchy yet a bit greasy.
Chili beans had a hint of spiciness but the cheese sauce and beans reduced the heat with the sweet flavor.

Marshmallow Mad Burger
They recreated the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man.
Between white bun, there're yogurt sauce, black cocoa cookies and grilled marshmallows.

Blood berry sauce made of raspberry and beets looked like blood.

Ice cream started melting while I was eating the burger and chili, and it became messy.

Marshmallows had lightly grilled makes and there're dried cranberries.
I think the ice cream was milk, not vanilla.
It required a knife and fork to eat.

Green Ghost Shake

It's a smoothie made with avocado and apples, and it's a captured ghost.
There're mini burgers, cherries, kiwi, avocado chips and matcha green tea ice cream.

Mini burgers are popular and classic Japanese snacks and it's a "chocolate patty" with biscuit bun.
Green colored cherries were sugary and sweet, and I usually don't like these.
Avocado chips were stale because it's been sitting int he smoothie.
The smoothie, on the other hand, was quite good, and I tasted banana and bitterness similar to kale.
G.B. Burger: 1,460 JPY
Black Chili Chips: 720 JPY
Marshmallow Mad Burger: 1,180 JPY
Green Ghost Smoothie: 720 JPY

「CHOISE HOT!」
