(Japanese follows. /

We're watching a Japanese TV show yesterday and they're showing Kaiten Sushi (回転寿司, conveyer belt sushi), then my husband found there's a Kaiten Sushi on east side called East Japanese Restaurant.

It's about 12:15 PM when we got there, and the restaurant was 80% full even though they just opened at noon.

Menu

On the wall, there're handwritten menus.

Same as the Kaiten Sushi in Japan, the color of the plate indicates the price.

Also, they substitute white rice with brown rice for sushi roll for 50 cents.

There're several kinds of sushi on the conveyer constantly, but I didn't see things I liked so that I placed my order to a waitress, not the guys in the sushi bar.

They seemed to like piling sushi on the belt.

The double-decker was a mix of prices and kinds.

I saw this machine making the rice into Nigiri shape.

Video.

They're preparing tuna.

Tamago (Egg)
It's one of the sushi that we didn't see on the belt, and as it's freshly made to order, the nori (seaweed) was fresh and had crispy texture with great flavor.
The egg was sweet and moist, and the vinegar flavor of the rice was so delicate that it's almost unnoticeable.

Squid
There're skinny cut on the surface with knife, and they're not too firm or too soft, and they had a great chewy texture.

Salmon Roe and Sweet Shrimp

These were other sushi that I didn't see them on the conveyer.
Salmon roes were popping and had nice saltiness, but the sweet shrimps tasted like defrosted shrimps.

Eel and Avocado
Inside-out avocado roll topped with eels, then garnished with very fine julienne daikon radish and carrots.
Avocado was too creamy to taste the eel clearly.

Tobiko
It's listed as "Caviar" but it's tobiko (or tobikko), which is flying fish roes.
They're popping and lightly salty.

Squid
I got another squid, and one of the nigiri had extra squid on top.
Nigiri was a set of 2 and sushi roll was a set of 4, as long as the ones I had, and the price range was 1.75 - 6 dollars, and it's not too expensive.
If I'm in that area and wanting some sushi, I'll come back here.

Egg: 1.75 dollars
Sweet Shrimp: 5 dollars
Salmon Roe: 6 dollars
Squid: 2.75 dollars
Tobiko: 2.75 dollars
Eel and Avocado: 6 dollars
* All before tax.
