Almond Kyo Matcha Chocolate
アーモンド 京抹茶チョコレート仕立て

These days, I see a lot of matcha flavored snacks in Japan same as every year.
Meiji launched "Almond Kyo Matcha Chocolate" on February 9, 2016 for a limited time, and it uses matcha from Kyoto.

There's an image with descriptions, and the center is nutty almond, then coated with lightly sweetened chocolate, and the match chocolate is as rich as Koicha.
Koicha (濃茶, literally means "Strong Tea") is a type of tea often seen at tea ceremony uses more matcha powder while Usucha (薄茶, means "Weak Tea") contains less matcha powder.
The inner pouch was gold with silver logo.
The matcha chocolate was much deeper green than I had imagined, and it's as dark as the image on the package.
There're tiny dots in the chocolate which were tea leaves I think.
The matcha chocolate layer was about triple of the chocolate, and in the center, there's a crunchy almond.
The matcha chocolate had strong tea flavor with bitterness and light sweetness first, and the aftertaste was as bitter and fragrant as hand whisked matcha tea.
The thin layer of chocolate was adding some sweetness, and the balance of matcha, bitterness and sweetness was very good.

毎年この時期になると、抹茶味のお菓子を日本で沢山見る。
明治が2016年2月9日に京都の抹茶を使った期間限定「アーモンド 京抹茶チョコレート
仕立て」を発売した。
箱の左には「厳選 香り茶葉と旨み茶葉」と書いてあった。
裏面には図解があり、中心にはカリッと香ばしいアーモンド、その周りに甘さ控えめな
チョコレート、1番外側にお濃茶のような抹茶チョコレートが使われていると載っていた。
内袋は金色で、ロゴは銀色だった。
抹茶チョコレートは思ったよりも濃い緑色で、箱のイメージ画像通りの色だった。
チョコレートの中には細かい点々があり、多分これは茶葉だと思う。
抹茶チョコレートの層はチョコレートの3倍ほど厚みがあり、中心にはカリッとした
アーモンドが入っていた。
抹茶チョコレートは苦味とほんのりした甘さの抹茶味が最初に出てきて、後味は立てた
抹茶のような苦味と香りがあった。
チョコレートの薄いそうが少し甘さを足していて、抹茶、苦味、甘さのバランスがとても
良かった。
