The Original Soup Man
オリジナル スープマン

We used to watch "Seinfeld" a lot, and one of the episodes called "The Soup Nazi" was inspired by Soup Kitchen International, which was closed in 2004 but currently runs as "The Original Soup Man."
There're various restaurants, but I went to the one in Manhattan to follow The Soup Nazi theme.
The face is Al Yeganeh, who runs the soup chain.
This is the actor Larry Thomas who played the Soup Nazi, and there's the famous phrase, "No soup for you!"
I was hoping to get bisque, but they didn't have it the day I went to so I got "Shrimp Corn Chowder."
I got a small cup and they put bread and a banana.

Besides bread and a banana, there're a plastic spoon, paper napkin and a Lindt chocolate.

The soup was a bit rough instead of silky, and there're red bell peppers, carrots, parsley, shrimps and corns.
It's sweet with vegetables but also had some spiciness though the board didn't have "spicy" sign.
There're little shrimps but they're soft and weren't chewy, and I think it's because they're cooked for a long time.
The bread was as large as my hand (20cm/7.87 inch), and I enjoyed dipping the bread in the soup.
Lindt chocolate.
The soup was good and I'd go back again to try the bisque someday.
Also, the soup comes with bread and a banana, even a chocolate, too, and I thought it's a good deal.

旦那と「となりのサインフェルド」をよく見ていた時期があり、スープキッチン インターナショナルにヒントを得た「スープナチ」というエピソードがある。
2004年に閉店したものの、現在は「オリジナル スープマン」という名前で営業している。
レストランは数店舗あるけれど、スープナチのテーマに沿うようにマンハッタンの店舗に
行ってきた。
ビルの壁には、このスープチェーンを運営する Al Yeganehの顔が載っていた。
お店のポスターにはサインフェルドでスープナチを演じたラリー・トーマスの写真に、
有名な台詞「No soup for you（お前にやるスープはない）」と書かれていた。
6月にHuluが開催したサインフェルドの展覧会で、ラリー・トーマスがいたので写真を
撮ってもらった。
ビスクを飲もうと思っていたけれど、この日のメニューには載っていなかったので、
代わりに「エビとコーンのチャウダー」を選んだ。
Sサイズのスープと一緒に、袋にパンとバナナが入っていた。
その他にプラスチックのスプーン、紙ナプキン、リンツのチョコレートがあった。
スープはカップの縁ぎりぎりまで注がれていた。
サラサラした滑らかなスープというよりは少しザラザラし、赤パプリカ、ニンジン、
パセリ、エビ、コーンが入っていた。
野菜の甘さがあり、メニューには辛いと書かれていなかったけれど、ピリッとした味も
した。
小さなエビが入っていたものの、長く加熱されていたのかプリプリした食感はなく
柔らかかった。
パンは手と同じくらいの大きさ（20センチ）で、スープに浸して食べると美味しかった。
美味しいスープだったので、いつかビスクを飲んでみたいと思う。
また、スープにはパンとバナナ、さらにはチョコレートまで付いていてお得だった。
