Royce' Rusk
ロイズのラスク

My mom bought lots of sweets from Royce', a Hokkaido based confectionery maker.
One of them was rusk, and it's my first time to try their rusk.
It's a value pack and contains 30 individual pouches and each has 2 rusks, so basically this whole bag holds 60 rusks.
From the side.
I'm used to seeing the loco in block letter, and to see "R" in script was new to me.
One side had yellowish color and fine sugars all over.
The other side was slightly paler and had no sugars.
It's about 1 - 1.5cm (0.4 - 0.6 inch) thick.
It's light, crispy and the sugars were crunchy.
It had the richest butter flavor among the rusks I've had so far.
According to the HP, the bread is produced only for making the rusk, and they use mist form butter and sprinkle granulated sugar.
And they use the same butter to bake the bread.
They don't use vegetable oil to create fragrant and crispy texture.
It's a good size snack when I have a little appetite.

母が北海道の菓子メーカー「ロイズ」からお菓子を沢山買い、いくつかもらった。
そのうちの1個がラスクで、ロイズのラスクは初めて食べる。
母が買ったのはバリューパックで、大袋に30個の小袋が入っていて、各小袋には2枚の
ラスクが入っているため、全部でラスクが60個入っていることになる。
いつもブロック体のROYCE'に見慣れているため、筆記体の「R」は珍しく感じた。
ラスクの片面は少し黄色っぽく、細かい砂糖の粒が全体にかかっていた。
反対側は少し色が淡く、砂糖はついていなかった。
厚みは1〜1.5センチほどだった。
軽くサクサクし、砂糖はジャリジャリしていた。
これまで食べたラスクの中で、1番バターの香りが濃厚だった。
HPを見ると、ラスク用に作ったパンにミスト状のバターを染み込ませ、グラニュー糖を
ふりかけているようで、パンにも同じバターを使い、香ばしくサクサクにするため植物
油脂は不使用とのこと。
少しお腹が空いた時にちょうど良いサイズだった。
