Snacks From Disneyland Resort, Anaheim

(Japanese follows. /

We went to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park (hereinafter defined as Adventure Park) for 3 days for our honeymoon.
As we usually do in Tokyo, we tried various stuff while we're there.

A positive major difference from Tokyo Disney Resort was much shorter line to order and less difficulty to find a table.
On the other hand, one of the off points was all the snacks were a bit "boring" which I mean they're not so Disney-themed.
Some snacks from Tokyo Disney Resort.

Mickey-Shaped Waffle from Carnation Cafe in Disneyland
You can choose from Hickory-smoked bacon or chicken-apple sausage, but neither of us wanted any meat with sweet-dessert waffle, so we asked for fruits instead.

The waffle came with a couple of slices of melon, a strawberry, a jar of margarin and a jar of maple syrup.
The Mickey-shaped waffle was thick and crispy outside and soft inside, and it's very good.
However, the service here was awful and very slow.
A waitress took us to a table but no one came to take our order, so I called the same waitress who led us the table, but she said, "I'm not your waitress and I don't take orders."
Finally a designated waitress arrived at our table and we ordered waffles, but it took forever for them to make them, like 30 minutes just for waffles while other people were getting food.
So we asked the waitress why it took so long and the reply was, "It's not my problem, the kitchen was slow."

If you wanna waste your time and money on shitty service, this is the perfect place.

Mickey-Shaped Pretzel in Disneyland
There're regular shaped pretzels but of course we got a Mickey shaped pretzel.
We got no cheese filling version.

The dough was chewy and the golden brown outside were very authentic.

Popcorn in Disneyland
They had several souvenir buckets depending on the wagons, but only salt or butter flavors.
In Tokyo, they have multiple flavors like salt, soy sauce butter, curry, milk tea, strawberry, honey, etc.

Corn Dog from Little Red Wagon in Disneyland
A corn dog is served with a bag of sliced apples or a small bag of chips.
If you're choosing chips, you can get Lay's salt, but I added a dollar or two and got Lay's BBQ.

It looked cooked too well, but it's not burned.
A little bit greasy but crispy outside.

As we're in the states, there's no need to ask, "is it pork or beef?"
Inside was soft and both dough and sausage were very hot.

Marshmallow Rice Crispy from Candy Palace in Disneyland

There're many kinds, but we got a Mickey one.

Milk chocolate was all over with red frosting (Mickey pants) and two buttons were Jelly Beans.

Frozen Marshmallow Rice Crispy from the same shop above (Disneyland)
It's prepackaged and sold on a shelf.
They had Olaf version, but I chose Elsa and Anna version.
On the top side, it's covered with white chocolate.

From the same shop, I found Agent P candies (but didn't buy)
It's the only snack they had feature Perry/Agent P and as a huge fan of Perry, especially, I was disappointed :(

Chicken Nuggets from The Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland
All white meat chicken nuggets served with fries at the bottoms and BBQ sauce.
In Tokyo, they have Mickey shaped nuggets but they only have ketchup.
They're all tender, freshly fried and very hot.

Vegetarian Gumbo from Royal Street Veranda in Disneyland
Spicy and full-of-veggies gumbo served in a sourdough bread bowl.
It contained corns, red peppers, okura, beans and some others.
It's spicy-hot gumbo and the sourdough bread was awesome.

Mickey-Shaped Sourdough Bread from Pacific Wharf Café in Adventure Park
While I was waiting for Phineas and Ferb show, my husband got us a snack.
It's a huge Mickey-shaped sourdough and it's quite heavy.
Outside was golden brown and inside was soft.
Ears, eyes and nose were especially tasty; crispiness and softness.
While eating, many looked at us and some asked us where they could buy this.

Souvenir Sipper Cup from Cozy Cone Motel in Adventure Park

In Cars Land, there're 4 orange cone-shaped venders and each sell slightly different items.
We got a small souvenir cup (16 oz.) and it's got a handle and came with a thick plastic flexible straw so it's pretty easy to sip and walk.
You can choose the beverage and this cone makes the drink tastier.
This one was very popular and we saw a good amount of people carrying this and again, we're asked where to get this by a group.

Soft Tacos Monterrey and Chicken Tamales from Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill in Adventure Park
On the left, it's Soft Tacos Monterey which you can choose beef, chicken or roasted vegetables with warm flour tortilla.
It's also had rice, beans, red salsa, guacamole and sour cream.

On the right, it's Chicken Tamales and other goods on the plate was same as Tacos but mine came with salsa verde.

They're all very good and I enjoyed my first tamale, too.

Blue Cotton Candy from a wagon in Adventure Park
Both parks have wagons selling cotton candies and there're also pink ones.
It's been a long time since last time I had cotton candy and it's larger than my face.
We worked on this together, but we left a quarter of it.

Chili Cheese Dog from Award Wieners in Adventure Park
The sign is like an Oscar statue but a person is holding a gigantic hot dog.

I'm surprised everything comes with a bag of chips or sliced apples here, but not so surprising that we chose chips over apples.
The bun and sausage were warm but the shredded cheese was so cold that it stayed as it looked and never melted.

Underneath the cheese, there's chili beans and the amount they put was generous (both cheese and beans), thus, it's impossible to eat it without making a mess.

Chili Cone Queso from Cozy Cone Motel in Adventure Park
At night, it looked different from the morning.

Chili Cone Queso was served in a cone shaped bread cup wrapped in a well-known black and white pattern which can be seen in car races.

Topped with shredded cheddar cheese and Fritos, and around the middle of chili in the bread cone, there're melted cheese sauce.
The chili stayed very warm till the end.
The cone-shaped bread didn't have flavor and it's a bit gooey.

Churro Bites from Cozy Cone Motel in Adventure Park
Yes, everything is cone shaped here in Cars Land.
Bite-size sugary churros were in the box.
It's served with cinnamon spiced chocolate sauce and it's good but the chocolate sauce was very runny and it's hard to eat.

Dreyer's Chocolate Ice Cream (Room Service) in Paradise Pier Hotel
I wanted something sweet so I got chocolate ice cream around 11 PM.
It's creamy and flavorful ice cream.

Cheese Pizza from Village Haus Restaurant in Disneyland
After meet and greet with Elsa and Anna (we waited for lever 3 hours), we needed to eat something quick and this place was right next to the meet & greet spot, so it's perfect.
They had pizzas, burgers and fries.
The pizza was a good size to share and the dough was chewy and very authentic (I was shocked in a good way).

Maleficent Cake Pop from Candy Palace in Disneyland

They had a larger Maleficent using a green apple, but I didn't think I could finish it, so I got instead a mini candy pop.

The base of the horns were Bugles and they're stale.

The face was a ball of chocolate brownie.
It's very thick, rich and heavy, but as it's a mini cake pop, it's easy to eat up.

Snow Flake Cake Pop (from the same shop)
There're large Olaf (decorated apple) and rice crispy, but we had rice crispy on the first day, we got this snow flake candy pop.
Underneath he sugary coating, there's same brownie that Maleficent had.

Diet Coke Ice Cream Float from Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop in Adventure Park

We don't drink regular Coke, so my husband asked if we could get diet instead.
Then yes, they could.
It's a vanilla ice cream floating over diet coke.
On the other side of the cup, there's a logo of the Adventure Park.

Citrus Turkey Breast with Old-Fashioned Turkey Gravy and Macaroni & Cheese from Flo's V8 Café in Adventure Park

On the left, it's turkey breast served with 2 choices of vegetables (roasted corn and mashed potatoes) and a garlic chive roll.

On the right, it's mac & cheese served with carrots, peas, grapes, sliced apples and a package of fruit juice.
This mac & cheese was very good.

We also had some churros, which were not Mickey-shaped but classic zig-zag.

They only had cinnamon flavor.

I felt some items were more expensive than that of Tokyo Disney Resort, but the volume was bigger so it's understandable.

Also, in the states, they had vegetarian options and non-pork food, so it's easier to go to any shops and dining.

In Tokyo, there're many cookie or chocolate tins, but I didn't see any in Anaheim.

I collect tins so I wish they have something with California only logo with reasonable prices.

  1. O.M.G. I wish I could go to Disneyland with you!!! All the food looks so good! I've never heard of gumbo before but the filling sounds delicious! The frozen rice crispy is so cute too!! Is the print (Elsa and Ana) edible?? And the taco, the chili cone queso, the pizza, I could go on and on!! Even the huge plain Mickey sourbread looks mouthwatering! >o<

This post literally makes me hungry now and yes, I want that cone drink container too!!

All the foods didn't disappoint us at all and I felt like the concept was different; in LA, it's more like "to fill you up" instead of "cute (kawaii)" which is a focus in Tokyo.
Gumbo was spicy and full of vegetables = so tasty!
Yup, Elsa and Anna print was edible and I had a big bite so I bit off Elsa's head first :p
Mickey sourdough bread was large but quite enjoyable. They also had Captain America's shield version and Cars' Lightning McQueen.

The souvenir cone cup is safely back to NY with us ;)
