These days, coconut water is so popular for the beauty and diet aspect even though it's been a pretty common beverage for local people (I picture subtropical Asian countries) and in resorts.

When I was back in Japan, in a restaurant they had plain coconut water in paper packages which you would see at supermarkets or conbini these days a lot, so with friends we tried one, and it's Vita Coco.

One liked the flavor out of 6, and the rest of us including me didn't enjoy the characteristic flavor.

Then I remembered that last year when I had coconut water in Malaysia, I didn't like it that much...

When I came back to New York, I stopped by at Duane Reade and found various kinds of coconut water in the refrigerator.

I decided to try flavored coconut water instead of plain this time.

The brand is called FOCO, which was established in 1982, and it's known for coconut beverages and also a full line of exotic tropical fruits drinks.

In 2012, Thai Agri Food Co. (the parent company of the FOCO brand) introduced FOCO 100% Pure Coconut Water to the US packed in Tetra Pak cartons, according to the homepage.

On the side, "In the tropics, coconut water is synonymous with heavenly water due to its ability to naturally hydrate and replace fluids and electrolytes last through work, sports, fitness and other daily activities.

Harvested from hand-picked young green coconuts, FOCO Coconut water is a natural isotonic beverage that will hydrate your body as you enjoy its refreshing, pure taste.

Refuel with nature's heavenly drink, FOCO Coconut Water with mango."

Mg: Magnesium

This coconut water has 5 essential electrolytes, 0% fat, no cholesterol, no sugar added, and less calories --- not sure to compare with what item.

The color of the content was pale transparent orange, and it smelled like regular coconut water but with a hint of sweet mango.

It still tasted like coconut water but with mango flavor, I could actually enjoy this fluid.

I think it's a great drink while containing those important components, it's low in calories and no fat nor cholesterol.

Next time time I see this, I'd try other flavors.

ここ最近になって美容やダイエット効果からとても人気が高い。

日本に帰った時に行ったレストランで、スーパーやコンビニにも置いてある紙パック

入りのココナッツウォーターが置いてあったので、友達と試しに飲んでみた。
商品はビタココのプレーン味。

6人中1人がプレーンのココナッツウォーターを美味しいと言っていたけれど、私を含む

残り5人はあの独特の香りと味が苦手に感じた。

そして、昨年マレーシアで久々にココナッツウォーターを飲んだときに美味しいと

思わなかったことを思い出した。

ニューヨークに戻ってきてコンビニに立ち寄った時、ココナッツウォーターの種類が

沢山あり、プレーンではなくフレーバー入りのを買ってみた。

この「フォコ（FOCO）」というブランドは1982年に創業され、ココナッツ飲料と

エキゾチックトロピカルフルーツ飲料の企業として知られている。

2012年にフォコブランドの親会社であるタイ アグリフードが、テトラパック入りの

フォコ 100% ピュアココナッツウォーターをアメリカに導入した。

側面には「熱帯地域では、自然に水分を蓄え、仕事やスポーツ、その他日常行動で

失われた水分と電解質を置き換えることができるココナッツウォーターは天の水と

等しいとされている。

手作業で収穫された青いココナッツのフォコ ココナッツウォーターは、すっきりした

美味しさで、あなたの体に水分補給する自然のアイソトニック飲料。」と書かれていた。

* アイソトニック：体液にほぼ等しい浸透圧を持つ電解質

別の側面には、5大必要電解質が記載されていた。

K： カリウム（ポタジウム）

Na： ナトリウム

Ca： カルシウム

P： リン

Mg： マグネシウム

このココナッツウォーターには5大必要電解質が含まれ、脂肪分0%、コレステロール0、

砂糖不使用で、カロリーが低めになっている。

（何と比べて低カロリーなのかは不明）

中の液体は薄い透明のオレンジ色で、よくあるココナッツウォーターの香りの中に少し

マンゴーの甘い香りがした。

味もほぼココナッツウォーターだったけれど、マンゴーの味と香りのお蔭で飲みやす

かった。

体に良い成分を含みながら低カロリー、脂質、コレステロールが皆無なのは嬉しい。

次回は他のフレーバーも試してみたい。
