Cat's Paw Shaped Fish Sausage Called "Nyankama"

(Japanese follows. /

My brother rarely finds many foods interesting, but he found cat's paw shaped fish sausage on a website produced in Kurobe city, Toyama.
The company is called Kiji Kamaboko founded in 1927, and Kamaboko means fish sausage in Japanese.
In Toyama prefecture, it's very popular and traditional to give Kamaboko for wedding gift, and usually it's decorated as sea beam or colorful decors which are all edible.

"Nyankama" was created to share happiness and be loved for a long time, according to the website.
"Nyan" is what cats say, it's "meow" in English, and "Kama" is from Kamaboko, fish sausage.

Nyankama uses famous water from Kurobe like other Kamaboko are using, and it keeps the softness of authentic Kamaboko.

Nyankama is created after getting orders, so it's made fresh.
It contains cream cheese filling, but if you mention "no cheese" when you order, they won't fill cream cheese inside.

We ordered 2 boxes of plain (no cheese filling) and 3 boxes of regular.
Each box contains 4 paws and a face of a cat, so total 5 pieces are in a box and each piece is vacuum packaging.

It's delivered with refrigerated courier service.
Behind the dressing boxes, there're blue stickers on the no-cheese Kamaboko and "cheese" on the ingredients list was deleted with black ink.
Each vacuum packaging had the same blue seal so that it was very helpful to see which is which.
(Regular Nyankama didn't have any stickers on.)

No-cheese Nyankama; 4 paws and 1 face of cat.

A paw.
The base was white and the paw was pale pink.

It's pretty thick and about 2 - 3cm (0.8 - 1.2 inch) tall.

The vacuum packaging was easily removed.
It was soft but also had some firmness.
It's got a hint of salty flavor and tasted good as it was without adding any seasonings.

I asked my cat for a help to compared with Nyankama.
Yes, they look alike.

This one is regular (cream cheese filling) Nyankama.
First I thought it'd contain more and fluid cheese filling spreaded out thoroughly, but it's more like a mini cube-shaped cream cheese implanted in the center.
Cream cheese was soft and smooth, and had subtle sweetness which went well with Kamaboko (fish sausage).

Nyankama is available in certain areas in Toyama prefecture, so to place an order online and get it sent would be the easiest way to purchase this.
