Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Became Ice Cream

I found Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream at Duanereade.

This ice cream is produced by Good Humor, an American brand of ice cream novelties sold from ice cream trucks as well as stores and other retail outlets.

Good Humor started in 1920 when Harry Burt created a chocolate coating compatible with ice cream. His daughter was the first to try it. She evaluated it tasted great, but was too messy to eat. Then, Burt's son, Harry Jr., suggested using a wooden stick as a convenient handle and it became today's ice cream.

By 1960 there were over 85 Good Humor ice cream products.

The Good Humor name came from the belief that a person’s "humor", or temperament, was related to the humor of the palate (sense of taste).

When I opened the box, there're 4 white individual packages.

The Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream.

The shape is very similar!

The chocolate coating was thin and very crispy, which even created noise.

I could taste peanut butter mixed with vanilla ice cream inside.

I saw layers of peanut butter in the peanut butter ice cream.

As it's thin layers of peanut butter, I could enjoy crispy chocolate coating, ice cream, and rich peanut butter flavor constantly.

As I used my fingers, it gradually started melting.

If you're planing to eat in summer, you had better be careful.

I had thought it'd wrapped in the same patterned material and also the ice cream would be placed in a paper cup like the chocolate.

So, to see this blunt and out-of-factory looking package was a little bit disappointing.

リースズ ピーナッツバターカップとは、

それはピーナッツバターフィリングがチョコレートに包まれているお菓子。

そのチョコレート菓子がアイスとなって売られているのを

近所のデュエインリード（Duanereade) で見つけて買ってみた。

このアイスはアメリカのグッド・ユーモア(Good Humor) といい、

トラックや店舗、小売店でアイスクリームを販売しているブランド。

1920年にハリー・バート氏がチョコレートで覆われたアイスクリームを

作ったことがきかっけで始まった。

娘に食べてもらうと、「美味しいけれど手が汚れる」といった感想だった。

すると、息子のハリー・ジュニアが木製の棒をハンドルの代わりに

付けてみてはどうかと勧め、今日のアイスクリームが出来上がった。

1960年までに、グッド・ユーモアは85種類以上のアイスクリーム商品が

販売された。

グッド・ユーモアというブランド名は、人間の「ユーモア」、言い換えれば気性は

味覚のユーモアに通じているという信念からつけられた。

アイスの箱の中には白い小袋が4つ。

袋の中には、チョコレート菓子の形にそっくりのアイス。

チョコレートコーティングは薄くパリパリで、食べると音がしたほど。

中身はピーナッツバターとバニラアイスが混ざったような味。

食べ進めると、ピーナッツバターの層が見えた。

この薄い層のお蔭で、どこを食べてもパリパリのチョコレートコーティング、

ピーナッツバター味のアイス、そして濃厚なピーナッツバターの味が

常に楽しめた。

直接持つと段々溶けてきたので、暑い夏の日に食べる場合は注意が必要。

箱を開ける前までは、チョコレート菓子と同じデザインの小袋で

アイスも茶色の紙カップに入っているかと思っていたので、

いかにも大量生産・工場直送のような味気ない包装だったのが残念。
