Chicken Tender Combo From Popeyes

Chicken Tender Combo was the first combo we had before trying Ghost Pepper Wings.
It comes with 5 pieces of chicken tenders, 1 warm biscuit, a choice of sides and one medium size soda.
There're "mild" and "spicy" for fried chickens and we chose "spicy" for all pieces, but we guess they'd have mixed if we had asked.
We chose macaroni & cheese for the side dish, and also we got one BBQ and Sweet Heat.
Each piece was larger than I thought and the breading was different from KFC chicken.
Popeyes' breading was had large flakes, and they're very crispy like crispy chicken from KFC.
Inside, there's a juicy but light white meat.
The spices were noticeable but not really spicy.
I'm not sure what "mild" would taste; either less spicy or no spicy ingredients were used.
This is Sweet Heat.
It's sweet, sour, and spicy, and tasted like Thai chili sauce and it's much spicier than spicy tender chicken.
BBQ sauce had sweet and subtle spiciness with smoky flavor.
I'm used to dipping chickens into BBQ sauce so that I liked BBQ sauce better than Sweet Heat even though I like spicy food.
Macaroni & Cheese was put in a small cup and covered.
The macaroni was cooked soft and the cheese sauce was not thick but runny with salty taste.
I like al dente pasta in general and prefer cheesier sauce, so it's a little bit off.
Biscuit had buttery scent and the surface was flaky.
When I ate it, it had not buttery scent but margarine and quite oily and salty as well.
It might be intentionally designed to eat as it is without gravy sauce.
Soft inside and light and crispy surface were both good though.
I gotta try some other side menus next time and also "mild" flavored chicken.

Ghost Pepper Wings
ゴーストペッパーウィングの前に食べたのが、チキンテンダーコンボ。
このセットにはチキンテンダー（笹身のフライドチキン）が5個、ビスケット1個、サイド
メニュー（数種類から1つ選択）、Mサイズの飲み物が付く。
フライドチキンには「マイルド」と「スパイシー」があり、今回は全てスパイシーを注文
したけれど、頼めば混ぜてもらえたと思う。
サイドメニューにはマカロニ&チーズを、ソースはBBQとスイートヒートを 選んだ。
各チキンテンダーは思っていたよりも大きく、衣はケンタッキーのチキンとは異なり
大きくザクザクしていて、ケンタッキーのクリスピーチキンに似た食感だった。
中にはジューシーで淡白な鶏胸肉（笹身）だった。
スパイスの味は分かったけれど、ほとんど辛さはなかった。
もう1つのフレーバー「マイルド」はこれよりも辛さが少ないのか、もしくは辛い材料が
全く使用されていないのか気になった。
スイートヒートはタイのチリソースに似て酸味、甘み、辛さが少しあり、スパイシー味のチキンテンダーよりもずっと辛さがあった。
BBQは甘さと少しピリっとしたスパイス、スモーキーな風味があった。
チキンナゲットをBBQソースを使うことに慣れているからか、辛いものが好きだけれど
私はBBQの方が好きだった。
マカロニ&チーズは小さな容器に入れられ、蓋がついていた。
マカロニは柔らかめに茹でてあり、チーズソースは粘度が弱くサラサラとして塩気が
あった。
私は少し固さの残ったアルデンテのパスタが好きで、チーズの味が濃いソースが好き
なので、これは少し残念なマカロニ&チーズだった。
ビスケットはバターの香りが強く、表面はサクサクしていた。
食べて見るとバターと言うよりは、マーガリンのような香りで油分、塩気が多かった。
もしかしたらこのビスケットはグレービーソースをつけずにそのまま食べることを想定
して味が濃い目に作られているのかもしれない。
ただ、ふんわりとした中身、サクッとした軽い表面は美味しかった。
他のサイドメニューや「マイルド」のフライドチキンがどのような味か気になるので
また行きたい。
