Takenoko No Sato "Mellow Marron" is another fall season limited flavor launched by Meiji along with Kinoko No Yama "Creamy Pumpkin" on August 26, 2014.
Takenoko means bamboo shoot, and Sato means land, thus, the literal translation is "a land of bamboo shoot."

On the packages, there're red and orange colored leaves, and there're 2 chestnuts before the flavor description; one is covered with spiny shell and another one is uncovered marron.

Inner bag had same bamboo forest and also bamboo shoots.
The colors were all brown-toned like chestnut flesh.

Regular ones are dark brown, and to see this pale bamboo shoots was a little bit awkward as they remind me of real bamboo shoots.

The cookie was light and crispy as usual, and the marron flavor was deep but not too strong.
It first tasted like white chocolate but in the end, the fragrant and sweet marron flavor lasted long.

2014年8月26日に期間限定発売された、たけのこの里「まろやかマロン」はきのこの山
「クリーミーパンプキン」と一緒に発売された。

箱には赤やオレンジの紅葉が散りばめられ、フレーバー名の前にはとげ付きの殻に
包まれたもの、殻を外した実の部分の2個の栗が描かれていた。

中の袋には外箱と同じ竹林が描かれていて、竹の子も埋まっていた。
栗の可食部分のように、全体的に茶色が使われていた。

通常のたけのこの里は茶色のチョコレートがかかっているので、白っぽいものを見るのは
違和感があった。
特にこの肌色がかった色は本物のタケノコのようだった。

クッキーはいつも通り軽くサクサクし、マロン味のチョコレートは味がしっかりして
いたけれど、濃すぎることはなかった。
最初はホワイトチョコレートのような味がしたけれど、後から甘く香りの良いマロン味が
出てきて長く続いた。
