Country Ma'am Kikyo Shingenmochi (Only In Yamanashi)

(Japanese follows. /

My brother and sister-in-law recently went to Yamanashi prefecture, and they got me a local-limited Country Ma'am cookie, manufactured by Fujiya.
The flavor is "Kikyo Shingenmochi (桔梗信玄餅, ききょうしんげんもち).

Kikyo Shingenmochi is a famous Japanese sweet from Yamanashi prefecture.
It's produced by Kikyoya Co., Ltd. and it's sold since 1968.
In a little tray, there're 3 slices of mochi (sticky rice cake) covered with Kinako (ground roasted soy bean powder), and you pour accompanying brown sugar syrup.

It's named after Shingen Takeda, of Kai Province (current Yamanashi pref.), was a warrior of Sengoku period.

Another Country Ma'am product.

The box has two ways to display; sideways or longways.

You can open the side to slide the tray full of cookies out, or you can peel the dotted line.

This is how it looked when I opened the dotted line.

There's a description of the flavor.
"With fragrant Kinako and rich flavored brown sugar syrup, we created Kikyo Shingenmochi flavor.
This is a special Country Ma'am only available in Yamanashi."

Each cookie was stored in a plastic back with flowers, which are Kikyoya's mark.
And underneath "Country Ma'am," it says "Kikyo Shingenmochi."

This is a cookie.
Classic flavor used to be larger but it became smaller and smaller due to the rise of the ingredients, so no wonder this cookie is small, too.
It's about 4cm (1.6 inch) in diameter.

It's about 1 - 1.5cm (0.4 - 0.6 inch) thick.
It had not only sweet cookie flavor but also Japanese sweet flavor.
It's crispy outside like regular Country Ma'am and inside was slightly moist.
And there're white chocolate chips inside.

I could taste brown sugar syrup in it but not much Kinako as brown sugar syrup had very strong flavor and sweetness.
It definitely has a unique flavor and is really different from the classic Country Ma'am with Japanese sweetener.
