A new Caramel Corn snack was on presale at conbini from December 23, 2013 and my husband was in Japan so that he bought it for me.
* General roll-out was from January 13, 2014.

Caramel Corn is one of the most popular and representative product of Tohato Inc., a Japanese food company specializing in snacks.
Fall in 2012, I made a loaf of bread with a bag of Caramel Corn (Debu pan #1), which was season limited and contained humongous pieces.

This "Flake Cort Caramel Corn Strawberry" has 3 times bigger pieces.

On the left bottom, there's a description with Caramel Corn image.
The core uses regular caramel corn dough, but outside, it's thinly baked flakes, strawberry flesh, and strawberry chocolate.

According to another description on the back, this provides 2 different textures; outside is crispy and inside is soft.

I think they meant "coat" not "cort," the latter of which could be used for a person's name.
They just didn't do spell-check? 

This is a piece of Caramel Corn.
It's definitely much bigger than the regular one.

It's got sweet strawberry scent from the bag and as the image on the package said, it was very crispy outside and inside was slightly mushy and soft like the regular Caramel Corn.

The flavor reminded us of strawberry popcorn from Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea!

東ハトから2013年12月23日にコンビニで先行発売されたキャラメルコーンを
日本に出張で行っていた旦那が買ってきてくれた。
* 一般発売は2014年1月13日。

キャラメルコーンは株式会社東ハトのもっとも人気が高く、
会社を代表するお菓子のひとつ。
2012年秋、当時限定発売されていた「でっかいブリュレ」と使って
パンを焼いたことがある。

この「フレークコート キャラメルコーン ストロベリー」は
1粒が通常の3倍サイズの大きさ。
袋の左下にはキャラメルコーンの絵と共に、
商品の説明があり、中心部は通常のキャラメルコーン生地で
外側は薄い焼き菓子のフレーク、苺の果肉、苺チョコがかかっているらしい。

商品名の「キャラメルコート」はコーティングしてるという意味でつけたはず。
そうであれば綴りは "COAT" になるはずだし、CORT とは人名に使われる単語。
スペルチェックしてないんだろうな。。。

粒は3倍と言われても納得できる大きさ。
袋からは苺の甘い香りがして、図の解説通り、外側はサクサクで、
内側は通常のキャラメルコーンのようにしっとり柔らかかった。

この苺の香りと味は、東京ディズニーランドとディズニーシーにある
ストロベリーポップコーンの味にそっくりだった。
