ティー＆シンパシーのアフタヌーンティー

We went to Tea & Sympathy for afternoon tea in summer, and it happened to be our last afternoon tea visit before our son was born.

Teapots reminded me of those served at King's Carriage House.
I ordered Apple Mango, but it looked and tasted like rosehip to me.

Egg salad
Though I don't like mayo, I was so hungry that I could eat it.
Tuna salad
Same as above.
Cucumber and cream cheese
Chicken salad
It's too heavy on mayonnaise and I could only have a little bite.
Clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Scones were cold.
They're flaky and salty, and it's similar to KFC biscuits in Japan, which have different flavors and textures from what US serves.
They're closer to southern buttermilk biscuit than scones.
Lemon cake
It's moist and dense in a good way, and it had lightly sour lemon flavor.
Cake
Between tall, fluffy, and airy sponge cakes, there're buttercream and raspberry jam.
Sticky Toffee Cupcake
It's a very moist cake with sticky texture as the name is, and topped with buttercream.

夏にティー＆シンパシーへアフタヌーンティーに行った。
この日が息子が生まれる前に行った最後のアフタヌーンティーだった。

ティーポットは、キングキャリッジハウスのものに似ていた。
アップルマンゴーを頼んだのだけれど、見た目も味もローズヒップだった。
2人でシェアするアフタヌーンティー フォー トゥー。

エッグサラダ
マヨネーズは嫌いだけれど、お腹が空いていたので食べられた。
ツナサラダ
上記と同じ。
きゅうりとクリームチーズ
チキンサラダ
これはマヨネーズの味がかなり強く、小さな一口を飲み込むのが精一杯だった。
クロテッドクリームとイチゴジャム。
スコーンは冷たかった。
塩気があり、ホロホロとした食感が日本のケンタッキーのビスケットに似ていた。
（アメリカのビスケットは日本のものと味も食感も異なる）
スコーンというよりも、バターミルク ビスケットに近かった。
レモンケーキ
しっとり、どっしりした食感があり、ほんのりレモンの酸味があった。
ケーキ
ふんわりと背が高く、軽い食感のスポンジケーキの間には、バタークリームとラズベリー
ジャムが挟まれていた。
スティッキートフィー カップケーキ
とてもしっとりし、名前の通り少しペタペタするケーキで、バタークリームが乗って
いた。
